Teaching & School Leadership

• Science Department Chair & AP Physics Educator: Lawrence Free State High School (Lawrence, KS) teacher since 1997.
• Comprehensive AP Physics Experience: Extensive classroom experience teaching AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism.

College Board Leadership & Advisory Roles

• Lead AP Physics Consultant (6 Years): Served as the inaugural Lead Consultant for College Board, responsible for training all active AP Physics Consultants and mentoring incoming workshop leaders.
• Chair, College Board Science Academic Advisory Committee (3 Years): Advised the College Board on national science education initiatives, policy, and strategy.
• Co-Chair, AP Physics 2 Development Committee (7 Years): Co-led the development of the AP Physics 2 exam and contributed directly to the creation of its Curriculum Framework.

Curriculum Development & Exam Assessment

• AP Physics Exam Leader & Item Writer: Serves as Exam Leader at the annual AP Physics Reading (since 2012) and actively writes/reviews items for the AP Physics 1, 2, and C exams.
• CED Rearticulation Committee Member: Helped write, review, and revamp the current Course and Exam Descriptions (CEDs) and Curriculum Frameworks across all four AP Physics courses.
• Lead Instructor, AP Classroom: On-camera presenter for official College Board AP Daily and AP Review Practice Session video series as well as video reviewer of all AP Daily Videos.

Workshop Facilitation & Global Experience

• Extensive Domestic APSI Presenter: Delivered more than 150 daylong and weeklong workshops for teachers across 37 U.S. states.

• International Workshop Leader: Conducted AP Physics workshops globally, including sessions in:

  • China: Beijing, Chongqing, Kunming, Shenzhen, and Shanghai (six times)

  • United Arab Emirates: Dubai

  • Taiwan: Taipei (two times)

  • Panama: Panama City

  • Canada: Ontario

• National Conference Presenter: Speaker at the AP Annual Conference (APAC), National Science Teaching Association Conference (NSTA), American Association of Physics Teachers Conference (AAPT), and the College Board Forum.

• Specialized District Consultant: Facilitates custom district- and building-level workshops centered on expanding Equity & Access in AP programs and developing Cross-Curricular AP Skills.
